ShapeBook with 2D3DSteel is structural steel reference and AutoCAD 2000-2009 parametric drafting software for structural steel design and detailing. ShapeBook is based on the AISC Manual of Steel Construction LRFD, 3rd Edition. Structural steel shapes are available in US imperial and metric units.
Using ShapeBook 3.1 you can view shape dimensions and properties. Search for shapes by property values. Convert shape lists between US and metric. Save and load shape lists. Calculate surface area and weight. Print Shape Data.
ShapeBook has a dynamic user interface with a running list of previously entered shapes that is automatically saved and restored. It includes a US-Metric cross reference chart. Shape lists can be saved to files on your hard drive for fast recall when you need them.
ShapeBook is powerful software you can use in conjunction with many types of steel construction software. You can have it running on your computers along with your current steel detailing, engineering or steel fabrication management software. It can provide instant access to design information without stopping what you are doing to find the dimension or design property you need. 2D3DSteel 2.1 is an AutoCAD VLX application that draws accurate steel shapes in AutoCAD 2000 through 2009. Any of the shapes available in ShapeBook can be quickly added, in 2D or 3D, to your AutoCAD drawings.
Using AutoCAD with 2D3DSteel 2.1, you will have a tool to accurately draw and model structural steel framing. You can use 2D3DSteel 2.1 to draw your sections and details or to draw structural 3D models using 3D solids created by 2D3DSteel and ShapeBook.

The Stair Calculator 2.0
If you are a detailer or fabricator and your work includes structural steel stairs, this software will ensure the dimensional accuracy of your stair stringer shop drawings. The Stair Calculator 2.0 program is a calculator for structural steel stairs. It provides complete dimensional calculations for stair stringers, including running dimensions for tread holes in the web and running dimensions for handrail post holes in the flange. The process of preparing shop drawings for steel stairs requires many repetitive calculations to determine the required dimensions. If you are working on a CAD system and use it to calculate the dimensions you must draw each stair to exact scale. This process is tedious and error prone. One of the most efficient methods of stair drawing preparation is the use of standard drawings. They can be prepared with most of the drafting complete and the dimensions and minor detail left out. You can then copy the originals and add the dimensions and detail as required. The Stair Calculator 2.0 is a perfect tool for this method of stair drawing preparation. Our drawings are prepared utilizing Design Data's world class SDS/2 Detailing System for our structural projects and an efficient AutoCAD detailing system using South Fork Technologies ShapeBook with 2D3DSteel software and SFT custom detailing software for miscellaneous and complex steel projects.
I create accurate 2D and/or 3D models as framing plans and prepare the shop details from the models using my custom software tools. My detailing methods allow me to detail specialized projects that go beyond the capabilities of most automated 3D detailing tools. I can receive and submit drawings electronically, using my website server or via email in pdf or dwg format. Drawings can be plotted on media and sent by overland carrier as well. SFT48 and SFT49
The South Fork Technologies Feet and Inch Engineering Tools is an integrated library of programs for calculating in feet and inches or metric format on a HP48G, HP48G+, HP48GX, HP49G, HP49G+ Calculator. These programs enable you to add, subtract, multiply, and divide dimensions. You can calculate dimensions using the trigonometry tools for right triangles, oblique triangles, circular segments and much more, all in feet and inches. When working with the right triangle tools you just set your angle and enter a side you know and hit the button for the side you want and it is displayed. Values on the stack from previous calculations are always preserved so you can flow through a group of triangle calculations accumulating the results with ease. This software provides an essential set of integrated tools for steel detailers, engineers, and contractors. This software allows the user to solve simple or complex dimensional geometry in feet and inches without working with decimal equivalents. You can store all of the critical angles and dimensions for any project in your calculator or in a file on your personal computer.
